  1. How about creepy people? I mean I'm pretty sure you may have had some scary experiences where: 1) A host may have been doing some heavy drugs/try to sell you some and/or 2) Some perv wanted you to do something in exchange and/or 3) You were to be the human sacrifice or be robbed or something along those lines and/or 4) Maybe caught stealth camping and spent a night in the slammer…..with the good you always get some of the bad….any stories to tell?

  4. Thanks for letting me know about Hitchhiking as a form of travel. I gave it a go after reading some of the stories on your website. It looks like you've already been where I hitched. I'm a Kiwi and I Hitched from Adelaide to Mt Gambier and back. One day down 4 rides one there one day back 6 rides.

  5. Liked the video.  I hitched across the country when I was young (19).  Great experience with a sense of being free that you don't get often.  BTW I won around $600 on the trip stopping in Las Vegas.  Didn't get the comps.  It's cool that there are still hitchers out there.  wtr7

  6. My big question is where do you leave your backpack during the night? When I travelled and slept outdoors the only thing that kept me worrying a bit I found out was where to leave my stuff. I was constantly worrying about someone stealing my backpack during my sleep. Really would like to know how you think about this!

  7. Backpacking is about this, n°1 item of a backpack is a sleeping bag right, modern youths distort the notion and call backpacking a nickel & dime trip with backpack instead of a rolling luggage, sleeping in hostels.
Let's leave them alone. How about states that prohibit uncounsciousness in public places after sunset? Of course they make a wasteland of human rights and freedom. The latter should let us do anything that is no harm to others. How do you deal with that?

  8. I have the same sleep system as you, and I heard the bivy is waterproof, but I didnt know how literal it was meant to be actual waterproof, and I didnt dare using it without a tent or tarp yet. Are you saying that it will really keep you dry in the rain?
